Håkon Lystad has been working as a freelance illustrator since 1999. He employs a wide range of techniqes and styles, working digitally, traditionally or anywhere in between as it suits the current assignment. Clients and subject matters are quite varied, ranging from children’s books and covers, ads, political comments, natural history, different sorts of educational illustration and concept art for computer games.
Clients include Cappelen Damm, Gyldendal, Kunnskapsforlaget, Artic Advertising, the University in Bergen, Mentalfish, Det Norske Samlaget, Eide forlag, Balder Magasin, the Norwegian Directorate of Education, Icelandic institute of Lexicography and others.
Håkon Lystad has a master degree in Visual Communication from the Collage of Art and Design (KHiB) in Bergen, Norway. He is also a senior lecturer at NKF Bergen (Norges Kreative Fagskole), teaching illustration. He lives in Bergen with his wife and two little kids.
