Eidsvoll’s youngest detail

Book cover detail

Zoomed in detail. I was looking for a crisp line, and found an interesting combination of charcoal and Photoshop to achieve it.

This illustrated book relates the story of the Norwegian constitution from the point of view of Thomas Konow. He was the youngest member of the constitutional assembly which met to draft Norways constitution at Eidsvoll in 1814. At merely 17 he signed the constitution that would grant him the right to vote at age 25.

The book is written by author and historian Ole Røsholdt, the typography for the cover was done by Åge Peterson. Published by Mangschou 2014 (the publishing date was by no means random).
