”Max & Bronto at the dental clinic” is written by Bente Roestad. This is a picture book with a little bit of a cause, which is to make children´s first meeting with the dental service less scary. Older stories about this tend to focus on anxiety and pain, and there´s always a hole that needs treatment. Today 95% of children won´t have any holes, and the first examination is done by a dental hygienist, and no dental drills will ever be involved the first time.
In the story Max is accompanied by his stuffed dinosaur Bronto, which is a character Bente Roestad came up with several years ago as a mascot for “Norsk Tannvern” (a Norwegian tooth care organization).
